Research for the Afghan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU) on social water management systems (mirab systems) in Afghanistan. To assess in different provinces the local practices of water and maintenance sharing between communities along main canals. (September/October 2007)
Research for International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) on water licensing in the Talas basin in Kazakhstan. To assess the processes involved in issuing and enforcing of irrigation water licenses. (July 2007)
Own field research in cooperation with ZEF/UNESCO on the shift from administrative to hydraulic boundary management of agricultural water resources and ‘illicit’ water in the agricultural sector in Khorezm, Uzbekistan. (July to September 2006)
